ROB ZOMBIE Recalls First Meeting With OZZY

The Pulse of Radio reports: Rob Zombie first toured with Ozzy Osbourne in 1999, but he met rock's Prince of Darkness several years before that. Zombie recently recalled the first time he met Ozzy and the surprise that the BLACK SABBATH vocalist sprang on him. "I don't even remember why I was meeting him," he said. "It was very early on, I mean, it was '95 maybe or something, and I went over to his house...not the house that they had on the TV show 'The Osbournes', but the house they lived in before that, the one next door to Pat Boone. And it was great. You know, I'd always loved Ozzy, loved BLACK SABBATH, and it was just me and Ozzy in his house and he played me this entire album he had made with (producer/songwriter) Mark Hudson that was very BEATLES-sounding. It's never been released, but it was fantastic."

The project Ozzy recorded with Mark Hudson, who has also worked with AEROSMITH, was called "Ozzyland" and remains a "lost" album.

Zombie does a headlining show in Great Falls, Montana on Thursday night (November 8) and rejoins Ozzy on Friday (November 9) in Billings, Montana. The two have dates booked together through mid-January.

Zombie released his first-ever concert album, "Zombie Live", last month. A companion DVD will arrive in early 2008.

The singer told Billboard.com on Wednesday (November 7) that he is still working on a box set from his former band, WHITE ZOMBIE, and hopes to get it out sometime next year.

The rocker-turned-filmmaker is also planning his next film, which he says is "not a horror film," but said that the current writers' strike and a potential directors'strike could delay the project. A director's cut of his recent hit remake of "Halloween" is due out on DVD in December.
